I also have a Boxford lathe from early 1960s rescued from a pile of 4 at the school where I taught maths. They were all ready to go to the scrap yard when, at the end of the 90s, the updated technology curriculum ruled them as obsolete. Such wonderful thinking!!! A replacement single phase motor In place of the three phase one was all that was required. Used most weeks and very useful.
