Default Re: Rubbish tip find - lots of 10" + 5"reels

Those spools have NAB hub centre holes in them. Usually used with adaptors (look up the prices of NAB adaptors on an auction site to see that these things are wanted)

The NAB fitting has an expanding O-ring to grip the spool and prevent chatter, but as most recorders taking NAB spools use adaptors fitted to their smaller Cine hubs, the end result is not really any better than a cine hub spool would have been... but people like the big hubs

The more common small centre hole with slots for three little wings are usually called Cine hubs because they were used on projectors.

There's plenty of tape out there on 10.5" plastic spools where the owner would want to transfer it onto a metal spool. Also there is demand for good plastic spools that are not warped.
