Re Station X and Boxford Lathe.
In 1965 I bought for £37 a 1939 ish American "Southbend" lathe.
I still use it fairly regularly for all those constructional and general DIY tasks where nothing else will do. It is just the job for cleaning / polishing the aluminium rings on my cooker hob as well.
( With abrasive pad, not a lathe tool! )
