Default Re: Tonbridge Audiojumble - October 7th

Well that's a surprise! Someone had clearly opened up the NAD 5320 and there was no "spin up". My record of success with CD machines is extremely limited, to say the least, so expectations were also low but I followed some on line advice re gentle lubrication and cleaning in the motor/CD support area and it began to spin backwards and forwards a little until, with encouragement-normal service has been resumed. I used Servisol though, not the WD40 that was mentioned. I'm really glad I went to Tonbridge now It's currently playing a fairly rough disc, that I could afford to sacrifice if I couldn't get it out, with no difficulty at all.
The only other thing that I had to do was to reconnect an earthing strap that had left a screw loose in the case.
