The scan coil department is still very vivid to me. I seem to remember a squared off section with coil winders and girls assembling the intricate coils. There was a sort of header board with something like' Mrs xxxxx Scanning coils section' but it was 50 years ago. I remember seeing another lady stamping out the aluminium station indicator for the VHF tuner, later painted red and cream with the number 1-13 printed on it. The railway station nearby was/is called 'Waddon Marsh Halt'. Strange how you soaked up all this fine detail as a young lad and never forget it. [I also visited A.E.I. at Woolwich that left me in a daze for weeks after but that is another story and not for this thread.]
