I'm sure the's a 1590 under there!
I'd be tempted to replace the HT preset as they had this habit of changing value and upsetting the CRT. It's a bit fiddly, but a better quality pot is a good investment. You might need a good vacuum cleaner, though!
Some did have Mullard CRTs, ISTR.
