When the fuse of the work room is only 10A you have a 50/50 chance that the 551 will shut down the light when switching ON ...
I love that old scope. The 555 will not do that about the saturation reactor, this works like a soft start.

Logic Analyzers: my 7844 holds a 7D01/DF2 in the scope cart, this is the only one I have.
