I think Bob was referring to the CT52, yes I noticed the delay line too. Indeed it is there so you can see the signal at and slightly before the point of triggering. Often the distributed circuit is replaced by a coiled length (20-30 M?) of coax.
Martin, yes it is very much a TV crt made by Brimar like you say with P7 phosphor.
An LF "Polyskop" but with a twist, the input stage detects frequency as well as amplitude so can be used with an external frequency souce glide tone etc.
