The textured front panel Model 2 meters seem to correspond to Rochester Row production, they will also have an instruction plate with a black background and aluminium text. When production moved to Douglas Street, the front panel was smooth and the instruction plate was black text on a plain aluminium background.
Ther are of course minor variations within these broad descriptions. They wouldn't be Avometers otherwise!
