What a wonderful presenter Eddie was. Like Top Cap, as a lad, I rarely failed to listen to the Happy Station programme on a Sunday morning, on whatever home-made receiver I had at the time lashed together on the bench in my shed. Continued to listen for many years, until Eddie was replaced by Tom Meyer, who, unfortunately, never quite cut the mustard in my opinion.
I knew someone who met Eddie, and told me he was an absolute gentleman.
I miss Radio Nederland, and its Media Network programme too. Always something interesting, and no spiteful political stuff.
