I think we were thrown by the use of your word "Radiogram".....It appears that your unit is a reasonable quality "Seperates" system and is likely to already have an inbuilt RIAA pre-amp suitable for a Magnetic cartridge. I suspect there is nothing wrong with your cartridge at all, especialy as it was selected by HMV to match the unit, and all you will need is a new stylus. Now we need to know what make is the cartridge, and yes, a photo would really help! For info, the BSR P128 is similar to the BSR MP60, but with a lighter platter.
