Just had another thought for Bazz, there are 12v lithium motorbike batteries available, these are not the cheapest thing on the planet but are designed to work on any alternator/12v charger, I have come across one in my time and can confirm that they weigh next to nothing and fling at least 500CC engines without a problem.
Maybe the above might solve things, alternatively, Bazz might fancy the challenge aspect of concocting something, either way, it's up to him.
