I knew I had seen this some where before.
Here is the pre-555 version - C4 is 470µF.
For the 555 version, R5 is 10R not 10k (10k works because the cmos 555 has such a low current draw compared to the normal 555).
Couldn't get the ohm sign to work even though µ works.
