This is an odd thread, just noticed it has over 10,000 view's but not many posts. I guess this is down to the cult following of these BBC speakers. I'll never have the brass to get a pair, but out of interest do these speakers warrent the cult following? They were made for monitoring broadcast material so how do they fair when used to play music at home?

One other question, why did the BBC go to these great length's when 9 times out of 10 the material would be played back on a tiny speaker of a transistor radio on an AM station or other very non hifi device after being compressed or otherwise altered by some sort of EQ? One trick I read about for use in the studio was to play a mix through a really crap pair of speakers, as this would be what the the majority of end user's would play it on; this is counter to the BBC methodology.
