I saw this Forum on researching my newly aquired (Ebay) AVO Model 8 MkV meter, I have a few DMM but still like to see trends in my metering rather than constant digital confusion.
But working out it serial number compared to every one else has me confused, maybe it been back for major repairs so here is mine.

GC No 0043701 (then next line down)
8V

This number is taken from the RH side casing and from inside the battery compartment.
Question - do you have From/To dates of manufacture for the Model 8
I also note the front appears to use only 3 screws for fixing, as well as that the trick of using two PP3 and 5v zener diode seems impossible in the space provided for the BLR121 battery (off the Maplins then).
