Most telephone bells will ring if you power them from a 30V mains transformer (so 50Hz) with an 8uF (or 10uF) non-polarised capacitor in series. You may want to adjust the armature travel (loosen the screw(s) and move the magnet to set the gap between the armature and the coil core it is not against if you see what I mean) and the gong position (the fixing holes are deliberately off-centre so rotating the gong does that).

BUT...

I'll do things like that on my bench for testing and experiments. I am not sure I'd want such a system set up and left powered all the time.
