Take care with what sort of player you use. A traditional wind-up gramophone may damage the disc, which is likely to be fragile. A 'Dansette'-type player in unknown condition is also a bit risky if the stylus is damaged or misaligned.

It would be best to find someone who has a good quality (traditionally known as 'transcription') player which will be able to play the disc gently using a relatively light tracking weight. This will minimise the risk of damage to the disc as well as getting the best possible sound from it.
