My set (also fitted with a new EY51) shows some picture expansion & dimming with the brightness turned up high, the EHT also drops. I think this is due to the marginal EHT transformer, although my set is fitted with the "improved" transformer.
My set has had a good few hours use since restoration and has had no problems, this was the first Bush set to use flyback EHT, cutting edge stuff at the time, although the Pye B18 of the same year does not suffer the same problem & delivers a tad bit more EHT.
