Thanks for that sad news - I bought a few accessories and spares for my Yaesu FT-60 from Jaycee a couple of years ago by mail, specifically to give them a bit of business.

The 'Comet' dual band amateur mobile aerial I still use was bought over the counter from their shop in Glenrothes on a long day trip out to there from Tyneside in the mid-nineties.

We (Tyneside) lost our own 'local' amateur radio shop quite some time ago. If I was looking to see / try / then buy amateur radio equipment now I'd probably have to wait for the Blackpool rally for the widest choice available within feasible driving distance.
