In a slightly different field - we only have the John Peel sessions available now because John Peel himself insisted on keeping the reels. Other sessions from that era have disappeared - for one album I worked on we had to use a cassette recorded from Radio 1's AM service because that was the only exisiting copy that the artist could find (this was done with permission from the BBC).
