Mole42 is right about the tedium of having to type code in as hex, the only way in which 'early' single board computers could usually be programmed.
Actually those were the deluxe versions, in around 1977/78 Elektor did a microprocessor teaching project (also based, like the MK14, on the INS8060 or SC/MP), which used LEDs and switches so all input and output was in
binary.
