I managed to bring the IEEE file home today and had a proper look at it.

I think quite a few forum members would find the photos and diagrams of Marconi's radio equipment (used on the yacht) to be quite interesting.

In case Terry's link doesn't work or if it requires membership I've uploaded the IEEE version of the pdf doc here:

Hopefully the link will work OK and it's probably the same file as per Terry's link. It's fascinating stuff and I think it's definitely worth getting a cuppa and a few biscuits before reading it
