.NET Framework 1.1 was one. Software should happily run with 2 (which is included in 3.5 sp1) but I struck one program - an old version of Quickbooks - which tested for a specific version and wouldn't install. It worked ok if a comptuer had been upgraded. Horrible software anyway.
