Back in the 70s my partnts' old Morphy Richards "Noiseless" hairdryer had one of those Ediswan plugs. When as a student I 'inherited' said hairdryer I took the Ediswan plug off and replaced it by a brown MK 15-amp BS546 because the halls-of-residence were all still round-pin.
