Default Re: What vintage equipment did you actually use today?

I'm not much of a TV watcher- I much prefer to be round the back of one fixing it! However, tonight I did watch an episode of the 'Professionals' on a Thorn 1500 TV, the signal source being a Ferguson 3V29 VCR.

I'm currently sitting in front of a '50's fan heater which my Grandad bought for his greenhouse many moons ago. It was made by M.A.L (Magicook appliances Ltd) I use it every day at this time of year.

I was at my Parents for dinner and every day they listen to the shipping forecast and then the news on Radio 4 long wave. The radio is a GEC 'transistor' from about 1960. It gets used every day and sounds really good. It's also never had any components replaced! They also have a MAL fan heater (an upright one from the same era as the radio) which gets daily use.

So most days something old if not vintage gets used to do the job it was built to do!

Cheers
Nick
