I made a more conventional model, make before break switches and numbered skirted knobs. It uses 1% 1W, good enough for me at home, the sort of thing you hardly ever use but when you want one ain't you glad you have one.
One thing I strongly suggest is that you provide a Ground terminal and use a conductive enclosure for screening. I painted the inside of my box with conductive paint after suffering from 'hum' when the box was used on the input of an amplifier. The paint was very successful.
