Default Re: Garrard 4HF Pitch control

Hi Skaman. Any news on this? I am interested to hear if you got it sorted as I have a couple 4HF's and the pitch control is a weak spot on these. The actual fitted controls are the sort you would find on the back of TV's.

I had my first 4HF back around 1972 and the control smoked and got replaced by a couple of wirewound resistors (by my Dad). We later discovered that the motor had shorting turns.

On my later 4HF's there is a slight burning smell if you adjust the control but it clears and the motors only get warm so I assume Garrard only meant the controls to be adjusted sparingly.

David.
