The interesting story behind all of this that I am investigating is that John Stanley (PYE) created Radio Caroline in a way to get Radio Atlanta off the ground. They were one project from the beginning. The fact is that they were not intended to have a long shelf life. They were supposed to pressure the Tory government into issuing licenses to the 200 stations waiting for them, but that did not happen and in the October 1964 General Election the Tories lost out to Labour and it was all over. Then a new purpose and explanation for their creation had to be found, and this before the arrival of Radio London. Therefore it looks as Perdio may have been taken over shortly before the creation of Caroline and the 'Caralux' receiver was the result. Then Perdio imploded. So the 'Caralux' was intended as a means to cash in during the early days of 1964 in order to recoup some of the expenditure of setting up Radio Caroline.
