Threads auto close after a period (180 days) if no new posts are made.
Threads can often be re opened by request use the red triangle sign to report post.

Threads sometimes need to be closed because they have wandered too far off the original topic.

Some of the more savy forum members often ask for dormant threads to be re-opened.
