We're heavy toast consumers, both with and without marmalade or baked beans, or sometimes in my case mushy peas. I think we're settled for good on a Rowlett Rutland Regent, not nearly so well known as Dualit at least outside catering spheres, but quite similar in size, weight (6kg), functionality and price. Its Brutalist charms were one reason for the decision to buy it and relegate our old flea-market Dualit to a standby role, while another was its readiness to produce one slice or three of toast when required, rather than that Dualit's options just of either two or four. Like the Dualit, the toast stays put, and therefore hot, until you want it: the Rowlett does produce a modest "ting!" to let you know it's ready.
Ours is already at home in its Norfolk kitchen just as it was until last Monday in County Durham. Oh, and other colours are available...
