Default HMV 901 at Sanford Mill Museum

Hi All,

Having now obtained permission to make this public, I thought I would post a few photos of the HMV 901 which is at Sanford Museum in Chelmsford.

Sanford Mill museum is part of Chelmsford museum and is focussed on Chelmsford's industrial heritage. The museum is only open to the public a few days a year.
On this occasion I was not able to attend myself, so I got my Dad to take a few photos. The pictures were not easy to take as the set is somewhat boxed in at the moment.

The set is in superb original condition. It retains its control instruction cards and even the original coax lead and plug.
IIRC the set is single standard, so EMI system only.
The serial number is H7242

The 901 was formally part of the Science Museum reserve collection and was obtained by the Sanford Mill curator as an examle of a pre-war Marconi EMI television, highlighting the connection between Chelmsford and the development of televison.
The museum is also home to a collection of Marconi TV cameras from the 1950s including a rare MK2 (for which I donated a lense turret).

I hope in future to take some more photos of this set.

Cheers
Andy
