Taking Chris idea forward.There are available AAA to AA converters
Basically you put an AAA into a plastic case which then turns it into an AA size battery
Loads on eBay
Should protect your gear from battery corrosion
Obviously the down side you will loose capacity
Although the capacity of an alkaline battery compared with an original carbon battery
Probably won't be that different
