They're used in several Tek 500 series scope plugins for the vertical amplifier function,they're essentially AFAIK LV triodes.

They were used in several hifi amps see - http://www.r-type.org/articles/art-150.htm and Ampex used them in their R2R's. Also used in Nueman mics.
