The serial number looks right enough, apart perhaps for the preceding two letters and the missing date. I presume these numbers are on twin labels, one at top centre of the RH side of the case, and one in the battery compartment below the BLR121. The serial number is typically five digits followed by space 8V (=Model 8 Mark 5) then the date as /m/yy.

The AVO history is poorly documented (despite the attempts of a few of us to improve it) so it is not possible to simply look up the date of any given serial-numbered unit. That is essentially the point of the present survey.

Even with the generous response to date, it has not been possible to populate a comprehensive list yet - it's still very patchy.
