Unusual.. The facia moulding (pic 2) is the type which has smaller legends which are more deeply incised. The scale plate is the less bold type, (slightly less easy to read, typical on early meters but sometimes used on later ones) and the high voltage bobbins are the type which have patent numbers showing on their paper wrappers. The rectifier is the smaller type which is pear shaped and has (thin) coloured wires. It's clear from stripped threads and missing screws that i am not the first visitor, and it could be the case that an early movement is sitting in a later meter. If not, could anyone index meter 17848 against theirs to give an approximate date of manufacture? I am thinking early 1935. There is nothing to indicate that it is a 'special', it is totally bog standard.
