Hello

I'm 'with' multi-meter and I've checked that the earpiece isn't o/c or a short.

But in answer to the questions:

..... ohms and check across T5 and T6 = 45.1 ohms

...... there should be a crackle in the receiver as the meter is connected or removed = There is a crackle.

I removed the slate and brown wire going to the dial (by luck, the colours are the same on this Portuguese Fone)

AND WE HAVE A DIAL Tone!!

Many thanks, I'll remove the dial and see what is happening in there.
