I had a similar problem, mine having an o/c T1 secondary. They're quite easy to dismantle. I rewound mine with a hand drill (but I have to admit the Meccano winder made by Peter looks like a far better proposition - absolutely wonderful). http://www.tibblestone.com/oldradios...adio/T1154.htm

Interestingly, the original winding had spliced breaks in it. I guess materials were in short supply at the time!
