Default Re: Looking for info on Telonic 1232A Sweep Generator

Hi Ron,

I thought I did, but perhaps not. Of course, the CW sweep mode would make sense. I'm not sure what the alternative EXT mode does? At a guess it selects an external sweep signal, which would make sense as this would be mutually exclusive to a constant wave output.

Also, I'm guessing now that this unit doesn't have a rectifier and vertical output (unlike many of the wavetek units). So, would I be correct in thinking that you need to construct (or purchase) your own rectifier to use as the Y input to the scope?

Also, does anyone know what ALC stands for? On the back of the unit is an ALC switch (INT or EXT) and an ALC EXT jack. I'm guessing level control, but I'm not sure.

Finally, I was hoping the documentation would tell me if this had a 75 or 50 ohm output impedance (I'm guessing 75 ohm). If anyone knows more or has a simple method of figuring this out, I'd be grateful.

Regards. D.
