I am not sure where you drilled the hole but I (and others) have had success by drilling one in the outer edge then filling it with switch cleaner. This got it running for me. After a while I shook the switch cleaner out and put as much sewing machine oil as I could. It ran quite noisily for a while and quietened down over a period of 24 hours.

It will twist and pull out of the magnet poles to make things a bit easier. I tried but never managed to get one apart.
