I try to listen to all of my "working" valve radios (around 50) on a rota basis for an hour in bed on a Saturday morning. I do find breakdowns during this period rather annoying, especially if hot wax squirts out everywhere when I am trying to read the paper
. Evenings in the kitchen I generally listen to short wave on the Halli S38 or Sailor 96D/66TS (wall mounted) unless there is a film on. The only thing that can scupper this is the local interference but thankfully short wave is reasonably immune.
