thank you all for the kind words
yes the "hot rod" red really makes the dial stand out.. i dont like to invent on vintage radios i like to respect their originality but this time i did it just because it was a scrap set and i had nothing to loose. nobody would care about repairing it because it was so broken.

It is a siera radio wich is basically a rebranded philips
you can actually use a philips chassis inside this cabinet, they are identical
the chassis model is S270u
i recapped it and put a diode in series with the dead rectifier tube, also changed the dropping resistors and it works fine!
