Staying in 1939, back to Blighty and this HMV. The 'coming season' was to hold a lot more than the introduction of more receivers into homes...
It often seems strange to me how 'modern' the immediate pre-war designs looked. This set could have been made any time up to about 1952. Though the pre-war sets were heavier to lug about.
