At that point it was doing one half of the secondary winding, (the primary had been done) the bits of white are dowels holding the space of the second half of the secondary.

Love the winder, brilliant, wish I had kept all my Meccano as a kid!
OK on replacement transformer, will look into that.

Peter, was the transformer from Antique their P-T156 3:1 interstage?
