Suspenders are the belts that hold up ladies silk stockings. Generally frilly and lacy affairs. I have no doubt that some "men" wear them, but none of my acquaintance.
One uses a trouser belt to keep ones knickers and possibly suspender belt from public gaze.
Another option is "braces" which is what you have pictured.
