There was talk of someone modding a reel to reel in the 70's to capture video, it must have been very poor. There was the Fisher Price camcorder that used audio cassettes. I only ever saw one and never paid any attention to it because of the brand. Showed it can be done though.
We all raved about proper camcorders in the 80's, happy times!
