A VHF radio with 2 x ECL 83 might be possible
Assuming a triode part of an ECL83 works at 100MHz!
1 triode mixer/osc
1 Pentode IF amp
two OA47 or 1N4148 as discriminator
1 triode audio preamp
1 pentode headphone amp.
In Radios Valves are used as
Oscillator
Mixer (or combined Mixer /Oscillator)
AM or FM detectors (though by 1960s Germanium diodes, OA81 etc took over)
RF amps /AGC
IF amps / AGC (AM)
IF amp Limiters (FM)
Audio preamp
Audio driver
Sometimes mains rectifiier
Sometimes Magic eye tuning indicator
Maybe even AFC
