Default Re: Is it wrong to sell your restorations?

John of Warnham - 'Heatercathodeshort' has a good idea there- we might reasonably expect stuff that has been restored/modified/serviced using a significant amount of help from this forum, to be offered here before appearing on something like ebay. Alright, it's not going to happen every time, but it's something to aim for.

There is certainly a clash of cultures with enthusiasts, collectors and traders (and people who are perhaps a combination of two or more of these demographics) having their own expectations of what is and is not cricket.

I have seen a few thread 'shutdowns' that cross from curt into rude, but in the main I find the reasoning for shutdowns was coherent even if i didn't agree with it.

If any of my stuff ever had to be sold (unlikely I hope) it would appear on here first as the quality and accuracy of the dialogue would give me a good steer as to whether I was selling to the right person- ie someone who would enjoy it.
