No, I definitely like getting the heat outside and using what ventilation can be arranged without creating weak spots or letting extraneous rubbish fall in keep the small signal stuff stay cool.
People often think HP8640b sig gens are faulty. Just where you put your right hand when holding one above the ground, there's a small toggle switch to put the counter freq ref on external... and the counter freezes.
