That number on your Multiminor is indeed the Serial Number.

Multiminors of any flavor, to my knowledge, never had a Date Code.

I'm not brave enough to say all Mk5's have serial numbers, but all
the ones I've seen have.

However, the Mk 4's I've seen, don't appear to have Serial Numbers.

I've not seen a Mk1, 2 or 3 in person, so can't comment on them.

Multiminors have been a continued problem on the survey because
they cannot be dated accurately.

Avo did made quite a lot of them, although we don't know even when
they were launched, but I heard somewhere it might have been 1956.
No idea if that is accurate or not.
They were certainly discontinued around the time the 70 Series Meters
came out.
