That's an impressive optical system, not to mention the laser itself which I'm assuming is the long black tube running parallel to the front of the machine. Was this a purely Soviet design? I never remember seeing any CD player with that type of optical arrangement for instance. |
The original Philips laserdisc players (the VLP600 from 1982, for example) did use a Helium-Neon laser tube like that.
